Terms and conditions
If one is applying for PhD study, advice to study single university for a four-year PhD, but this must be in a recognized Training Centre. One must research this option intensively and justify the value added to this three-year PhD course. As it will fund only a finite number of four-year PhDs, if one choose this option, one is strongly advised to also invite at least one three-year PhD course as a choice.
Each year, it invites elected appointing bodies to file a finite number of suggestions. The bond for appointing bodies to file suggestions is December 13th, 2016.
It invites around thrice the suggestions than scholarships – therefore, suggested candidates are not promised for getting scholarship. There are no quotas for availing commonwealth scholarship.
Each suggested candidate’s application is first examined by advisers with expertise in the subject area concerned, and then by the selection committee.
Applications are examined according to the following criteria:
- Merit according to academics of the candidate
- Planning on the basis of quality study
- Impact to be made on the development of candidate’s country.
